In July 1979, Derek Jarman moved from his Butler's Wharf warehouse on the Thames, to a tiny flat in Phoenix House on Charing Cross Road.

An Illustrated Talk by Jane Palm-Gold , this talk explores his life and work there, his unknown ‘city garden’ and the series of life-changing events that led to his relocation to Prospect Cottage, Dungeness.

Jane Palm-Gold is an artist, curator and historian of St Giles. They look at the series of life-changing events that happened to him in late 1986 that encouraged him to relocate to Dungeness the following year, where he found peace in nature and his new garden ‘project’ at Prospect Cottage.

No booking required, just show up on the evening!
