Hold a VE Day 80th Anniversary Street Party !

This year marks the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, and Camden Council is excited to invite you to be part of the celebrations. We’re welcoming applications from residents who would like to host their own small street parties on Monday 5 May 2025 (Bank Holiday).
VE Day, observed on 8 May 1945, marked the end of World War II in Europe. This anniversary is a time for reflection, remembrance, and recognition of the brave individuals who contributed to this historic achievement. It’s also an opportunity for communities to come together, honour the past and celebrate the unity we share today.
How to get involved
In order to facilitate these events, we require interested residents to apply online by 5pm on Monday 7 April (there are no fees to pay). This is to allow time to ensure smooth planning, including necessary road closures and event support where required.
We will try to accommodate as many events as possible but depending on levels of interest, this may not be guaranteed.
Please read our full guide before submitting an application.
If you have any difficulty in applying, please email events@camden.gov.uk
